Happy New Year & news of things to come...

Foragers Finest would like to thank all of our customers for a fantastic first full year and for those who have tried our products for the first time this Christmas, we hope they enhanced your meal times :)

We will soon be publishing our new website where finally you will be able to buy online - or if you're local place an order for personal delivery.

Don't forget you can follow us on twitter

and Like our facebook page too

Our retail outlets continue to grow in numbers - we welcome your suggestions for suppliers/shops/restaurants who value locally produced home made preserves. We now also offer catering sizes in several of our products - do get in touch if you're interested or know someone who might be!

We do listen to your suggestions; hence adding the Geranium Jelly & Chilli Oil to our product range and will be adding more of your recipe suggestions using our products to the new website too.

We hope you all have a happy & healthy 2013

Jonathan (AKA Head Forager and his merry foragers too!)

Great way to use our Onion Marmalade

Corned Beef Rissoles with a Twist!

Make a potato mash with just potatoes (5 or 6 large potatoes) and butter and add one tin of corned beef and a tbsp of mustard to the mash, mix with a fork.

Add some seasoning (pepper, salt, nutmeg, Worcestershiresauce), dice an onion and fry in a pan until lightly crisp and a
dd to the mix.

Allow to chill, then mix with some flour ( I think 1 or 2 tbsp will do) make a splodge and add a dollop of Foragers Finest Onion Marmalade and form rissoles with the help of a table spoon.

Roll the little balls in flour (or breadcrumbs) so they're evenly coated.

Heat butter in a pan and fry the rissoles until crisp.

(best served with extra marmalade and a glass of red wine in front of a real fire with a smiling son and contented wuffer sat on your feet! - well it works for me)

It's May already!

Gosh where has the last month gone?

Ahh remembered now, it's been spent in the kitchen! It was such a shame that Cowpie show was cancelled today due to flooded fields, it would have been a super day out especially as the sun has finally made a brief appearance.

Tomorrow finds us again at Oxted market. It's such a shame more people don't pop in, the stalls are alway really varied and there's very much a community feel. If you're local and fancy a Monday morning outing do pop in and say Hello.

Shopfest & Tatsfield are both also coming up and we're hoping to soon confirm a few additional dates too!

Mayfield Lavender opens in June, we're hoping the sun shines for their first weekend.  Whilst you're there you'll be able to purchase Foragest Finest Lavender Jelly and Lavender & Lemon Chutney in addition to their other lavender products. It's a lovely spot for a picnic and the tea shop I'm hoping will be open again for a scone - of course we advise having them with lavender jelly in preference to jam!

We are currently perfecting a Rose Geranium Jelly as requested by one of our customers at St Christopher's Hospice - we do respond to requests!  Please do submit yours at any time admin@foragersfinest.com

We are still undecided whether to have an online shop, we think P&P is just too high to justify ordering preserves online - but what do you think?  If we do go ahead it might be a facebook shop on the Foragers Finest fb page, work in progress out of the kitchen too.

Do get in touch at any time your feedback and comments are always much appreciated!

Jonathan

Future Events...

It's been busy times attending several craft fairs, farmers markets and school shopping evenings too.  We have also again increased the Foragers Finest range having perfected our vinegars, blackberry vinegar is just great for tenderising pork fillet prior to adding to the barbecue.

The raspberry is oddly good with strawberries and ice cream - so many more ideas to be shared soon!

Tomorrow sees us venturing again to the Oxted weekly market and next Saturday is the very first new event - Shopfest in Horsham!

We're then back for the next Reigate Farmers Market on Friday April 27th.

This year will be our first time at the Cowpie Show on the 13th May, we are already making sure we can meet demand with advance orders for Blackberry Butter already being taken to be collected from the show.

Finest foraged feasts in pots - Chutney is the new chocolate!

Foragers Finest will be at the Gingham Goose Craft Fair, Hayes (Bromley) next Saturday and at the Warnham Craft Fair next Sunday.

Just in time for you to stock up on something special to surprise your Mum or any special person - including you!

Whether you're looking for something to pep up a plougmans, sassy up a sandwich, add a fruity richness or a little something to warm things up a bit... we can help!

We have 2-pot gift bags you can personalise, great for any celebration or just because you're worth it.

Jonathan has been busy in the kitchen, the chilli pepper chutney has been such a hit he's trying to create a bit of variety for folk that linke things hot - a red version and a new green version too.

The new red onion marmalade makes a change from the more traditional variety - and as variety is the spice of life - why not try them both!

We always encourage people to try before they buy, all products will be availabe to taste.

Do come along and support your local home made markets.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

(And if you can't make it then fret not, do see below for other future dates, a few more to be added too!)
